Hello, my name is Roger. In 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called CIDP. I started getting weak. I started to fall and I could no longer hold myself up in the shower. My bladder and bowel movements were failing me. I landed in the hospital one day and I did not leave there for four months. My disease attacks the peripheral nerves and myelin sheath which is the insulation for your nerves. I also got a stroke while I was doing my treatment. I am now paralyzed from the waist down and fully dependent. My disease affects 0.8 out of 100,000 people. I am doing infusions of IVIG to help me get stronger. I have a long way to go for my recovery, but I’m on the right path. I stay positive and have faith in God that I will walk one day. Up N Out Social helps me keep a social life. I’ve met a lot of great people on my journey to recovery.
