Mayor’s Best!

Virgilio De Guzman is one of the pioneers and supporters of Up N Out’s vision of emphasizing the importance of bringing socialization and  outdoor activities to the disabled community and putting this practice in his elderly care business. He brought his residents to many of Up N Out’s outdoor social functions like paddling at Newport Beach, going to the movie theater with his residents to watch the latest movies, taking them grocery shopping with the Shopping Buddies program, taking them out to restaurants with the Taste Buds, among other fun activities to bring joy to his residents’ life. He supported Up N Out’s vision and appreciated the various activities that Up N Out made available to the community he was serving. He had the heart of a servant leader, always leading his home and those he cared for with kindness, compassion, humor, love and most of all with dignity and respect. His favorite activity to do with his residents is to sing Karaoke. And boy could he sing!  😊 He was good about encouraging his residents to sing along to the lyrics to engage them in the activity. His contagious smile and kind spirit still carries a light that will last until eternity. Up N Out Social is grateful to have been part of his life and the contribution he brought to the community. He is our Forever Mayor. He always gave us his mayor’s best. At Up N Out because he always took care of things in a swift manner, he was nicknamed by everyone, Mayor! We miss you Mayor Vir!
